EPISODE 5 — “A Date To Remember”
The beginning of a promise.
“At Liam’s funeral, something shifted inside of me forever.
I remember seeing shirts made in his honour by his volleyball team — people wearing his name, carrying his memory, showing up for him through something visual and meaningful.
And in that moment, I realized how powerful clothing could actually be.
Not just as fashion… but as storytelling, connection, remembrance, and love.
Around that same time, the first ideas behind what would later become the ‘Sister’s Promise’ design began forming in my mind.
Roman numerals marking the date we lost Liam.
A semicolon symbol representing suicide awareness — the reminder that someone’s story does not have to end where the pain begins.
At first, I wanted to create something small in Liam’s honour for his future 18th birthday. Something that could help fund a memorial space people could visit, like a park bench.
But looking back now, I realize that moment was becoming something much bigger than I understood at the time.”
