What LowKure Means To Me: Liz Pereplyotchik

The first time I met Liam I was sitting at a park bench by myself and he came over to me and asked me if I wanted to join him and his friends to play. That pretty much sums up the kind of person Liam was. He was always kind, caring, a light that lit up every room he walked into. He always made sure that everyone felt included and had the biggest smile on his face.

Words will never describe how much he’s done for me especially with how much he’s changed my perspective on life. He taught me to care about everyone, enjoy the small moments in life and never take them for granted, but most importantly he taught me how to look at the really crappy things in life in a positive way.

The biggest way that LowKure has impacted me and my community is actually bringing me a community of people I now consider my closest friends. Whether that meant seeing someone on the street with a LowKure piece and coming up to them or being at an event and meeting people where we relate to each other on such a raw level, I believe it was LowKure that did it. LowKure to me means peace, resilience, freedom but most importantly a safe place where you can be yourself and find a community that not only cares about you but also for how you’re really doing. No matter what stage of my life I have been in, LowKure and Liam have been a part of it through every step of the way in such a variety of ways. I truly believe it changes lives for the better and the people that have built this are so strong and I know Liam is so so happy and proud beyond words.
